Online chat for teens with a brain tumour
Join an online chat for teens with a brain tumour if you’d like an informal, online meet up full of fun games and friendly chat. These meet ups are for teens (13-17) living with, or beyond, a brain tumour diagnosis.
The events will be led by our Young Ambassadors. Our charity Young Ambassadors are young adults who have been affected by a brain tumour diagnosis. You will have the chance to meet and get to know some of them. However, there will also be staff members from The Brain Tumour Charity on hand to chat and answer any questions.
We also offer family days, which are face to face events for the whole family. Members of our teen community have used our family days to meet up with other teens, socialising in a fun environment, but with their family around also.

Online chat for teens FAQs
-
Our online chats for teens are for people aged 13-17 years with a brain tumour diagnosis.
-
Yes. We also offer a support service specifically for teens whose sibling has a brain tumour diagnosis. This service offers the same support and social opportunities as the teenagers ‘living with’ group, but specific to siblings and their own unique circumstance. You can find more information about this service here.
-
Unfortunately not. However, we also offer young adult meet ups for 16-30 year olds with a brain tumour diagnosis.
-
Ordinarily the online events will be facilitated by our Young Ambassadors, who have all been personally affected by a brain tumour diagnosis. However, charity staff will also be on hand throughout the event to ensure it runs smoothly and offer further support, if needed. These events can offer something for everyone from fun games and activities, to informative talks and support around topics such as exam revision, school with a brain tumour and so forth.
-
Yes absolutely! We know that being a teenager can be difficult at the best of times, let alone when living with a brain tumour diagnosis. That’s why we are running these events – they will be fun and relaxed.
There’s no pressure, and the teens can chat online and take part in as much or as few of the activities as they like. Our experienced Young Ambassadors and Children and Families Team will also be available throughout the event to support the teenagers. If you want to discuss this further, prior to an online event, please feel free to contact our Children and Families Team on [email protected]

At The Brain Tumour Charity we are committed to ensuring the safety and promoting the welfare of all the children and young people we support. Please follow this link to read more about our Charities Safeguarding Policy. All our staff members and Young Ambassadors have had DBS checks
(Disclosure and Barring service, formerly known as Criminal Record Bureau or CRB). We also ask for the details of an emergency contact.
-
We need parental consent for any teenagers under the age of 16. Therefore, we will ask for the name and contact details of a parent or carer so that we can verify this consent.
-
Absolutely. This event is for all teenagers who have been personally affected by their own brain tumour diagnosis. This includes those who are in active treatment and beyond.
