A huge congratulations – and an even bigger thank you – to everyone who took part in The Twilight Walk London 2024 on Saturday 23 March. This was the second time we’ve held a charity-led The Twilight Walk in London and like all good sequels it was bigger, louder and had a healthy dose of pyrotechnics.
More than 1,200 of you joined us to trek through some of London’s most-iconic locations and have raised an in incredible £338k so far. All so that we’re able to invest in more world-class research, be bolder in raising awareness of brain tumours and support more people affected by this disease.
There have also been record numbers of people across the country who’ve united behind our goal of accelerating cures for brain tumours by taking on The Twilight Walk Own Walks. We’ll be shining a spotlight on some of these incredible events soon.
Getting warmed up at The Twilight Walk London 2024!
The event was kicked off with rousing speeches from our Chair of Trustees Jack Morris CBE, our CEO Dr Michele Afif and Nicola, Gracie and Mark Nuttall – who were walking in memory of their daughter and sister Laura.
To get everyone limbered up and ready for the walk, Rod Buchanan (of Bod by Rod fame) – accompanied by special guest Star- led the crowd in a warm up.
A sea of red striding towards a cure!
A quick stroll over to the route’s start point, a countdown from singer and actor Amy Nuttall – who was walking with her dad and nephew in memory of her mum – and our walkers were off!
It was amazing to see such a sea of red striding towards cures for brain tumour. In fact, there were so many of you – over 1,200 – that we had to split the walk into two waves just to fit everyone into the building.
It was paw-some to have your furry friends join us at The Twilight Walk London 2024!
2024 was the first year that we’ve been able to include canine companions in one of our Charity-led Twilight Walks and we were delighted to see so many of your four-legged friends join us as we accelerated towards a cure together.
We couldn’t do this without you!
As our walkers made it back to the finish line, we met them with thunderous cheers and applause – not to mention the dulcet tones of The Rock Choir.
Once medals were handed out and refreshments were had, the day was bought to a close with a scorching fire-performance.
In total, your efforts have helped raise an awe-inspiring £338k (so far!). That’s enough to fund over two and a half years of cutting-edge research into brain tumours.
