Tracy’s story
Tracy Vindel was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumour in October 2013 following 2 episodes of falling unconscious. Unknown to her as no-one witnessed them she had actually had seizures. Fortunately, her GP was a very astute doctor who referred her to see a neurologist. She was under the care of a great team at Oxford John Radcliffe and Churchill hospitals.
Following various re-occurrences, 3 resections, radio and chemotherapy as well as many alternative therapies including ketogenic diet, nutrition supplements, acupuncture etc. Tracy lost her battle on 9th May 2017. She was 43 years old, married to her husband Nick and two delightful and energetic young boys aged 8 and 4 years old.
Tracy always said:
“I am passionate to enjoy life as I have an incredible supportive group of friends and family but also want to give something back so I have chosen to set up this fund. I think its disgraceful that brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer and only receives 2% of all research funding.”
Thanks for supporting this fund, which we will continue to support along with the fabulous people who have helped her on this journey in raising funds for this wonderful charity.
