Our Impact So Far
Since before we became known as The Brain Tumour Charity we’ve been working hard to make lives better for people with brain tumours. Our consistent three-fold approach of 1) funding great research, 2) providing excellent support and 3) being strong advocates for change, is helping to change the world around us. Here are some of the ways we’re succeeding.
Our Strategic Impact 2015-2020
Over the 5 years of our ambitious strategy, Defeating Brain Tumours, we made some great progress in driving forward research, massively expanding our support services and influencing change. See these achievements in our impact report here.
Measuring Research Impact
Every year we ask our researchers to share the impact of the work we’re funding through a platform called ResearchFish.
In addition to the most recent submissions (2020- 2021) we are also please to share the combined data from 2015-2020 to really see the impact of the research driven by our Research Strategy: A Cure Can’t Wait. These are just some of the highlights:
2020-2021 Our Research Achievements – PDF
Once again we'd like to thank all the researchers who submitted their achievements to ResearchFish this year. We're really proud of the work you have done in the last 12 months, and look forward to sharing your continued successes in the years to come.
2015-2020 Our Research Achievements – PDF
Thank you to all the researchers who submitted their achievements to ResearchFish during the annual data collection periods. We’ve collated the data insights and are pleased to share them with you in an easy to read one-page file. Enjoy.
Our Publications
Take a look at the publications we’ve produced over the last 5 years. They’re a great way to get a taste of how we’ve shared our progress and plans throughout the Defeating Brain Tumours strategy era.
We’re not done!
The links above help to show that we’re making strong and steady progress towards our ultimate goals of doubling survival and halving the harm. But we know there’s a lot still to be done, so we’re kicking it up a gear.
Our new Research Strategy: Accelerating a Cure, outlines how we’re planning to invest at least £40 million into research over the next 5 years. We’ll be supporting scientific discoveries, the translation of those discoveries into new treatments, as well as generating the evidence needed to ensure the healthcare systems have access to best quality of life programmes as standard. By harnessing data, increasing the research workforce and growing collaborations for cures we’ll drive research towards new treatments and improved futures for people with brain tumours.
