Our Research Strategy: Accelerating a Cure
Our new research strategy for 2022-2027, Accelerating a Cure, outlines our priorities over five years as we strive to create a world where brain tumours are defeated.
Accelerating a Cure
Take a look at our plans for the next five years, and see where you can get involved.
Our brain tumour research strategy, published in December 2021, outlines the key areas that our funded research will focus on over the next five years to achieve our strategic goals:
Double survival
Halve the harm that brain tumours have on quality of life
As an organisation, we are committed to funding research that will increase survival and will take every step necessary to improve quality of life for everyone affected by brain tumours. Our strategic goals are designed to make a step change in the overall experience of our community and are necessarily and unashamedly ambitious.
We will achieve these goals by funding research into three priority areas, that we believe will have the greatest impact on the brain tumour community. We will create new knowledge by continuing to invest in that great research which is the foundation of tomorrow’s cures. We will accelerate new treatments to enable more research to progress towards the clinic, by forming a Virtual Biotechnology platform to make treatment validation faster. We will enhance quality of life by ensuring that evidence-based supportive care is embedded into standard care.
We aim to achieve our goals within 10 years and this strategy represents the work we need to do over the next five years to help us get there.
