Together we can reach a future where families affected by this awful disease can have more hope when they’re facing a brain tumour diagnosis.     

However, we know that cures for brain tumours aren’t discovered overnight.

In 2005, we funded a project led by Dr David Jones that identified a certain mutation in a child’s DNA – specifically the BRAF mutation – that was driving the growth of brain tumours in some children.   

This was a huge discovery at the time. But it took until 2024 for it to be translated into the first new treatment for brain tumours in decades to be approved for use in the NHS. And the first targeted treatment for children.
