Gowling WLG
Since 2021, The Brain Tumour Charity has been fortunate enough to receive support in the forms of both fundraising and pro bono work from law firm Gowling WLG and the Gowling WLG (UK) Charitable Trust.
In addition to a number of donations from the Trust, staff have supported us through voluntary fundraising. In a very touching tribute to a member of staff who was sadly lost to a brain tumour, 20 of his colleagues walked 26 miles through Birmingham Town Centre in the blazing heat of June 2022. Between them, the team raised an amazing £4,792 for their ‘Marathon Walk,’ which was then generously matched by the Gowling Charitable Trust to total £9,584.
Gowling WLG’s Corporate Responsibility team is currently working with SLT and the Corporate Team on a number of pieces of pro bono legal work for The Brain Tumour Charity. Several colleagues have come forward to generously offer their time and expertise through the company’s pro bono scheme. Not only does their work save us costs that can now instead be spent on research, campaigning or support, but it ensures that The Brain Tumour Charity is covered by adequate legal protection.
We expect our partnership with Gowling WLG to continue to flourish and we are eternally grateful for both their financial and pro bono support.
