Henry’s Story
Henry was diagnosed with a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma in February of 2005. He underwent a course of radiotherapy and responded so well we were able to take him skiing the day after his last treatment. That pretty much sums Henry up. Always on the go always ready for the next adventure. He was a very active boy who only had two speeds; very fast and asleep!
There followed a magical symptom-free summer and he returned to school in September. Something we never dared hope for. However by November we noticed a recurrence of symptoms and we were told he only had weeks to live. He tried so hard to fight but the battle was never his to win and we lost our precious boy on Christmas morning. He was six years old. A very special day for a very special boy.
Henry was a very brave boy and during his courageous ten month battle with this cruel disease he rarely allowed his “wobbly head” to get in the way of living. He was an inspiration to his family and touched so many hearts wherever he went.
