Professor Palmer is visiting professor at University College London and the University of Reading, as well as Life Science Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Bristol.
Throughout his 30-year career, Professor Palmer has focused on brain disorders and their treatment.
He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and formed or co-founded six bio-tech start-up companies.
He sits on several boards including those of the British Neuroscience Association, CerestimLtd and One Nucleus Ltd.
Founder of the first UK neuroscience-based start-up, Professor Palmer was voted London Biotechnology Network Entrepreneur of the Year in 2005.
