We look back to the 2023 London Marathon and our amazing team that took to the streets of London to help us go further, faster in pursuing cures for all brain tumours.
A huge congratulations to our London Marathon team who took on the 26.2 mile course on 21 April 2023. In total, our runners raised a fantastic £520,000, which could fund over four and a half years of cutting-edge research. A huge stride forwards as we take on brain tumours together – thank you!
Meet some of the London Marathon team
The TCS London Marathon is always an incredible occasion, and this year was no exception. A record-breaking number of individuals crossed the iconic finish line, and we also had our largest team ever take part!
Adam’s Story
Adam took part in the 2023 London Marathon in memory of his wife, Jackie, and his sister, Debbie, who both passed away at the age of 58 from brain tumours.
Camilla’s Story
Camilla was diagnosed with a multi-focal glioblastoma multiforme in August 2022, and was successful in securing a ballot place after several years of trying. Tackling the London Marathon while undergoing treatment was a huge feat for Camilla. So she only started fundraising after she knew she had completed the challenge.
Dave’s Story
Retired head teacher, Dave, took part in the 2023 London Marathon after suffering a seizure and being diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme in 2021. Dave’s Mother, Jean, also had a brain tumour and died in 1991 at the age of 50.
Running towards cures for all brain tumours
Our team of 141 runners worked hard in both their training and fundraising and have together have raised over £520,000! This is a huge stride forwards in our movement to help people with brain tumours live longer and better lives. Thank you.
The money raised from the 2023 London Marathon could fund over four and a half years of cutting-edge research into brain tumours.
